October 2017 Update

Pretty Baby romps to an easy win at Chelmsford on her second outing at prohibitive odds of 1/5, confirming the promise of her debut. She looks like she will make a nice three year old.

There is plenty of interest for Seven Hills connections in the Aus¢400,000 Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes at Caulfield in Australia. The race is won by Lord Fandango whom Jeremy Brummitt purchased for another UK based syndicate before it was sold to Australia. Third was our old friend Gallic Chieftain, whom we bought as a yearling. Both horses were subsequently sold by their UK syndicates for a decent profit before going on to do extremely well for their new Australian connections. We wish them continued success.

We have no luck at Book One in Newmarket, but land two very nice colts the following week at Book 2. We pay 75,000 guineas for a grey Showcasing colt out of a Dubai Destination mare and 190,000 guineas for an outstanding colt by first season sire Australia. He is out of a Holy Roman Emperor mare and looks like he should have speed as well as stamina.
